My studio -My favorite things

My favorite things. In these little cubbies are some of my teacup collection, my mom's Christian Dior perfume, some gifts that my sister has given me, and my metal type blocks. I love my sunny little studio, its my girly space where I can make a mess working on projects, I will miss it when we move.

BreadMan

I found a bread machine for $4 yesterday and decided to test it out. So I popped all the ingredients in the machine and 3 hours later the machine beeped out me and out came a mini loaf of bread. Healthy homemade bread for the cost of ingredients, not bad.

Tamale Day

It all seemed to fall into my lap. I found a great deal on Pork
Butt Roast, (you'd think that they'll call it something better like rump, or tocks) less than a dollar a pound, then I went to the thrift store and found a streamer for my pot for $1. For the rest I made a visit to this great Mexican Market, Carnicerias Guanajuanto, where I found all the ingredients I needed for under $10. Not bad for about 5 dozen or so pork tamales. I used the directions on this website.  http://www.sonofthesouth.net/tamales/Tamale_Recipe.htm
The directions are a little bossy about saving the meat juice but the tamales were so tasty.
